Author Matt Rogan approached me to help structure and edit a book he'd written with his father on the social, political and cultural background behind the story of London's three Olympic Games. Matt drew heavily on his experience in sports marketing for the book, and his father has been involved in sport for over 50 years. The book was to be published with the help of Lane4, the consulting company Matt works for, but they needed help with the editorial and publishing process. I read and edited the manuscript, correcting copy and discussing changes to sharpen emphasis, clarify examples and strengthen presentation. I also provided advice on marketing the book. The book went on to take the number one spot in the Amazon Olympic book rankings in early 2011 and has been well-received. Matt said: "I can't think of a single recommendation Martin made that we didn't take up."
