Taxi for Modric

Updated: May 10, 2020

I see that readers of Spanish football paper Marca have voted Luka Modric La Liga’s worst signing of the season. He’s made 19 appearances, all of which add up to only 717 minutes out of a possible 1710, scored one goal, and generally failed to impress.

It’s safe to say he’s not nailed down a spot in Real Madrid’s first team.

Now, all players need to play regularly to keep standards up. Spurs miss the creativity Modric provides, the addition of which really would make us a force to be reckoned with for the second half of the season. And, according to a statement from Spurs last year, we know have a “special relationship” with the Spanish giants.

All of which means I fully expect Daniel Levy to be on the phone to Spain arranging a loan deal. You heard it here first.
